We are looking for a Subject Matter Expert (SME) Solution Engineer on networking technologies and optimization as they apply to the End-User Computing (EUC) Anywhere Workspace. This includes Secure Access Service Edge (SASE), SDWAN, VPN, Hybrid Cloud connections and other adjacent technology areas. The SME will support our global EUC Pre-sales field teams. You should have deep understanding of cloud networking and security and be able to work with other experts on topics such as Unified Endpoint Management, Horizon VDI, Access and identity. As a member of the VMware EUC SME team, we evangelize VMware business value and technical benefits to senior level business and technology decision makers. Our Solution Engineers are instrumental in solution development around Digital Workspace.
The EUC SME SE role is a high impact, very visible and inspirational role in driving the adoption of VMware products and solutions in large scale enterprise accounts as well as influencing product improvements and the new products/solutions that VMware brings to market.
Job Roles and Responsibilities:
Develop and share in-depth technical knowledge of VMware and domain expertise re a Networking focus for the EUC Anywhere Workspace offering.
Partner with EUC SE in pre-sales efforts including the following: Architecture design discussions, proof-of-concept engagements, troubleshooting and technical workshops
Collaborate with product management, collecting and sharing information on industry trends, customer requirements and competitive analysis
Act as a thought leader and mentor others in global teams to continuing grow the knowledge to win.
Work with sales leadership across the Region to ensure customer focused end to end GTM across Marketing, SEs, Partner, Inside Sales, Professional Services and Customer Success teams
Work Collaboratively amongst a Multi-Business Unit franchise and master parallel execution with Core Technical Sales teams
Work across Business Units to assist with an overall Channel GTM and Partner enablement strategy across all GEO
Required Skills:
Technical pre-sales and/or consulting experience and 8-12 years of industry experience
Demonstrated networking background including connecting clouds with knowledge of Express Route, direct connect, routing/switch and Software defined networking
Experience with network optimization such as compression, path optimization, SASE. Example Technologies like Packateer, Citrix Branch Repeater/Silverlake and others.
Demonstrated understanding of Cloud security as a fundamental requirement for securing the modern workplace.
Demonstrated experience in Zero Trust Architecture with the ability to continue to stay leading edge as this market evolves
Exposure to Carbon Black and other security solutions.
Demonstrated experience with Load balancing technologies such as AVI, F5, NetScaler, Palo Alto Networks, Cisco Firewalls and Checkpoint.
Awareness with Identity Access Management systems (vIDM, Okta, Ping, SCIM, etc) SAML authN and a Strong understanding of Software Defined Data Center (SDDC)
Strong presentation skills as well as the ability to build and present high-quality product demonstrations to both technical and executive audiences
Travel up to 25% of the time
Preferred Skills:
Knowledge of End User computing technology such as Horizon, Citrix, or Microsoft Virtual Desktop
Software Defined Networking (SDN) such as VMware NSX
Experience with Microsoft desktop operating system and Windows application deployment, configuration, and management
Possess a strong knowledge of Enterprise Architecture with background in either the customer or system integrator landscape
Networking and Security Industry Certifications such as CCSP, CISSP, AWS, Google, Azure, CCNP, or similar.
